Cipher Case; Judicial remand of Chairman PTI extended till September 13
The special court established under the Official Secrets Act has extended the judicial remand of Chairman PTI Imran Khan till September 13.
The hearing of the cipher case against Chairman PTI was held in Attock Jail. Imran Khan’s legal team, Salman Safdar, Ahmed Masrar and Intar Panjhotha were present in Attock Jail. Judge Abul Hasanat Zul Qarnain of the Special Court established under the Secret Act heard the case.
According to sources, Chairman PTI was brought before the court for attendance. The court extended judicial remand for 14 days after taking attendance.
Three petitions were also filed by the legal team of Chairman PTI, in which Chairman PTI’s petition for bail, the Ministry of Law’s notification of the jail trial as illegal and declared null and void and the trial in open court was filed. went
The lawyers argued that there is no Official Secret Act case against Chairman PTI, a cipher case was made for political revenge.
Notices were issued on PTI chairman’s bail application after his arrest. The court issued notices to the parties and called for arguments on September 2.
It should be noted that Chairman PTI is on judicial remand in the cipher case and FIA had sought physical remand of Chairman PTI on August 16. However, the court did not accept the request and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
According to FI, physical custody or remand cannot be sought in the same case after being judicial, now the challan will be submitted and the trial will go on, but the accused can also apply for bail.
Due to security concerns, the Ministry of Law had issued a notification to hold the hearing in Attock Jail.
